Tabriz University of Medical Sciences Medical Journal of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences 2783-2031 34 1 2012 06 12 Rheumatologic Presentations in a Patient with HTLV1 109 111 EN Mohammad Reza Ardalan Journal Article 2012 06 12 HTLV-1 (human T-cell lymphotropic virus) is the cause of two recognized human diseases; Adult T cell Leukemia/Lymphoma (ATLL) and HTLV-1 associated myelopathy (HAM) syndromes. Here, we report a patient who presented with confluent-violaceous maculopapular skin lesions, arthralgia and positive serology for rheumatoid factors. Later, the patient presented with thrombocytopenia anemia, walking disability and renal involvement. Future workup discovered the diagnosis of ATLL lymphomatous involvement and HTLV-1 positivity.
